Positive Affirmations Are at the Heart of Timothy's Indie Pop Jam 'Been Thinking 'Bout You'
Having freshly kicked off his solo music career, New York-based artist Micah "Timothy" Bishop has just released his second single, 'Been Thinking 'Bout You.'
Written after a conversation with his wife about the stresses of her work, 'Been Thinking 'Bout You' spins positive affirmations and gentle assurance into an energetic certified pop banger.
Framed as a one-way conversation, Timothy's proclamations are accompanied by driving beats, layers of guitar rhythms and arpeggios, and eventually, pads and synthesizers that provide a perfect backdrop to the passionate vocals and giving the track a distinct synthpop flavour.
Indeed, the vocals - melodically, lyrically, and tonally, in equal measure - are the hero of this single. Timothy channels pure emotion in delivering his vocals, spinning his thoughts and feelings with hopeful, passionate fervour.
"The messages of "I'm thinking of you" and getting "back to where we started" were really important to me express," said Bishop.
"It turned out to be a very hopeful and positive song that I think a lot of people can relate to."
Timothy is currently releasing a catalogue of singles, with an EP currently slated for a 2022 release.
