Gulliver Releases '365' After A Long Hiatus Honing His Skills - And It Shows

Melbourne-based artist Gulliver has spent the better part of the last year, like most Melbournians, in lockdown. It has been a long time between releases for the Australian artist, dropping only the occasional track and remix throughout the past eight or so years while on hiatus.

Now, Gulliver has returned, spending the last years honing his skills, songwriting, and working on a number of songs, including his latest single, 365.

Written in 2020 to celebrate his one year anniversary with his partner, 365 is inspired; full of passion, energy, and love (for both his partner and, seemingly, music).

Opening with the lyrics, "I never saw the point in love songs, but now I write one every day," Gulliver declares his feelings and with it, ignites a four-and-a-half minute journey of euphoria.

The time spent "in various bedrooms and studies" developing his skills as a musician appears to have paid off. 365 is one of those discoveries that is not only enjoyable, but becomes irritatingly catchy - a testament to the layers of gorgeous melodies, driving arpeggios, and ever-evolving elements littered throughout the song including guitars, lush synth sounds, and dynamic percussion.

Gulliver, singing to his partner, claims to have "365 of these songs for you, and I can play them all if you want me to."

I can only hope we get a chance to hear some of the other 364, because a single track from the electro-pop artist leaves me wanting much, much more.

Stay up to date with Gulliver via his Facebook, Instagram, and Linktree.
